Lacy Heart Card

Valentine's Day is a week away and I'm getting in the mood! I created this fun lacy
card using the Sizzix Scallop Heart Fold-Its die.

Once again I used one of my favorite color combinations - red / gray. The gray backdrop is actually a piece of pattern paper that has tiny white hearts.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment "LOVE BIG" from the Stamps of Life December 2018 card kit.

This was a quick and simple card, and I love the finished product. Using any of the fold-it dies designed by Stephanie Barnard are so much fun to make!

You Melt My Heart

This card was so much fun to make! I love that it can be used as a winter / Valentine's Day card.

I started with a light blue card base and stamped tiny snowflakes from The Stamps of Life soup4snowman stamp set.

I then cut some white cardstock using  a Sizzix Edgelit die to create the look of a snowy landscape.

I stamped and die cut the snowman using snowman2build stamps and dies, but added a pink heart instead of a scarf or buttons down the front.

I used the sentiment from the December 2018 card kit to complete the card.

Adore You Card

Here is a quick and easy card I made using my Stamps of Life Card Kit Club. I love the red and gray combination - especially if I'm giving it to my hubby!

I created a layered backdrop of using my dotted rectangle dies. I then inked the edges with strawberry ink to help them stand out.

I placed the smallest rectangle horizontally on the card and then adhered my "Adore"able heart. Because I was trying to make a more "manly" card, I chose not to add any extra embellishments.

Thanks for looking!

You are Loved A Lot Card

There are a lot of boys and men in my family and I love it when I can make hearts look masculine.

All my stamping supplies come from The Stamps of Life, and the color palate is full of rich colors like this midnight and green apple. I paired these solid colors for the card, and used a die to create the polka dotted card.

Two layered green hearts provided a place for my stamped sentiment. The only "girly" thing on this card is the bow. I needed to fill some space. I chose a grosgrain ribbon with white stitching. I didn't want the ribbon to look lacy or even "soft".

This is a simple valentine's card appropriate for one of the special men in my life!

I Love You card

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and I absolutely love making heart / love themed cards. Here is one of my favorites!

Hot pink is definitely one of my favorite colors - and I love how it pops with black and white.

I used hearts2love stamp set from The Stamps of Life. This scribbled heart is one of my favorite stamps, and the square border and sentiment are included in that stamp set.

Gone Fishing

Here's another layout from our stay at Give Kids the World Village. We went fishing . . .  and caught a turtle. My mom took so many pictures and I had a hard time narrowing down my choices to the twelve prints you see here.

I'll be completely honest - other than the blue rectangle you see on the left side, all the other paper used on this layout are scraps from the layout I made about hanging out at the pool that I showed last week. They were scattered around my scrap table and I was feeling a little "burnt out" on creativity, so I created some banners and layered them under my photos. I used the same letter stickers from the pool layout to give it a cohesive look in the album.

I had these dimensional fish stickers that had been in my stash for years. The colors of the fish weren't a perfect match to the papers I used, but they were close enough and completed the layout nicely.

Hanging at the Pool

This is a layout from our Baking Memories 4 Kids trip. The boys absolutely LOVED the pool at Give Kids the World Village. It was completely accessible. It had beach access which meant that you could roll a beach wheelchair (which they provided!) right into the water. Caleb could get into the water without being transferred onto a lift! Whenever we weren't at Disney or Lego Land the boys wanted to be in the pool!

I put this layout together using my favorite inspiration, a Scrapbook Generation sketch. I picked out my color scheme using the cut out characters in the 5x7 photo. It was actually Alyssia's idea to use the blue polka dot paper to mimic the bathing suits and the blue beach ball Zach was playing with in the top left corner.

The large yellow strip on the left page gave me a perfect spot for my 5x7 photo. I love when I can use multiple size photos on a layout. Which takes me to a great scrapbooking tip I learned from Allison Davis of Scrapbook Generation . . .

Scrapbooking Tip:

If you have photos you can crop down, consider making them into "polaroid" pictures. This is so easy to do, and a great way to use up scraps of white paper, of which I always seem to have an abundance!

We Love Candy

Who doesn't love candy? My kids have inherited their mom's sweet tooth. Although, as I've matured I forgo the sour patch kids...
